Luego de que la Corte Suprema de Justicia de Estados Unidos declarara inconstitucional la Ley 1996, conocida como Defensa de la Ley del Matrimonio (DOMA en inglés), que negaba los derechos federales a las parejas del mismo sexo legalmente casadas, artistas de Hollywood, saludaron la aprobación del matrimonio gay a través de las redes sociales.
